On t' telly last night

Post by Motormouse »

'Discovery Wings', I caught a program of archive films, those old 'Ministry of Information' B&W ones from the 40's and 50's.

If you didn't see it you missed Typhoons in action over Normandy,
the Berlin Airlift; Yorks', Sunderlands,Lancastrians,Halifax,Hastings and some from over the pond, and the final segment was Heathrow, Viscounts,
Elizabethan's,Comet and "the engineering bases of BOAC and BEA working 3 shifts around the clock"------> some things have stayed the same!

ttfn

EDIT:-----> next weeks programme, "Aviation Archive Weekend" covers British aviation of the 1950's-60's
Discovery Wings,Tuesday at 7pm and repeated at 10pm

Once theses programmes turn up they usually repeated within a few days or weeks so it's worth keeping an eye out
