You fellows often post the permanent retirement from life and all it means for comedians etc.
As nobody else has posted the death of Sir Jack Brabham on the Qld Gold Coast, at age 88, I thought I'd better do it.
He died on Monday 19th May 2014, the only man ever to have built his own car and team, then win 3 F1 championships.
RIP
Sir Jack Brabham

Re: Sir Jack Brabham
A truly great champion and innovator to boot. Also the first man to win the world championship in a mid-engined car - the Cooper-Climax - in 1959-60. And it shouldn't be forgotten that the late Denny Hulme retained the drivers' title in the Brabham-Repco in 1967. In fact, the Repco story is as interesting as the Brabham one. RIP.
Re: Sir Jack Brabham
I met Jack, he wasn't a Sir then, a few times in the early 6o's when I worked at Fairoaks. He used to park his plane with us. I damned if I can remember what he was flying at the time. Could it have been a Tri-pacer?
Re: Sir Jack Brabham
Always sad to hear but he had a good innings,
I met Jack at Brands Hatch a few times, a charming Gent,
RIP,
Roger.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
