Inside Brize Norton.

Post by 511Flyer »

New series started on SKY1HD last evening at 8 o'clock. Or maybe it's a repeat that I missed the first time around?

It appears to focus on a particular aspect of operations each programme. It must have been filmed some time ago, because there are lots of VC10's around, so perhaps there will be a noisy treat in store. Maybe to include Tonks and Hot Charlie in the office?

It wasn't bad actually. the sort of thing the BBC used to make a long time ago. It's blatantly a bit of recruitment propaganda for the RAF but you can't blame them in these times.

Is it me, but do all the flying C-130's sound like they have piston engines?

I'm not sure about the sounds Paul, but I found last nights programme interesting. It reminded me of the para dropping from our Hastings. What a palavour! Rigging the interior with benches, snag wires, hookup wires, etc. The worst job being taping over the door hinges and joints. Sticky tape and lots of dope. Not a favourite job of mine.

I was surprised that the female Sqdn Ldr thought that repatriation of the dead was "the most important task that Brize Norton undertakes" Surely not? Very important? Yes, and they do it so well, but surely the flying operations top the list?

Still no sign of the VC10's in action, but there are still six episodes to go so I'm sure we'll see them soon.

Well Tonks, you weren't avoiding anything when I saw you on You Tube. In fact, I believe it was you who posted the link! If it was me, I'd be very proud of myself, puff out my chest and smile for the camera.

LOL... I was happy with the Airbus thing, I am less keen on the "fly-on-the-wall, reality TV" stuff. There was a much smaller audience for the Airbus one too!!!

Tonks :$
It's NOT real!!!!!
