Here is a very interesting development . A Rossiya Special Service Il96 is en route from St Petersburg to Washington. Is it to collect the 12 expelled diplomats, or is it something more hopeful than that ?

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

I noticed a DC8-72F over Berlin flying East a few minutes ago. I didn’t think there were any still active. I wonder if it’s humanitarian aid? No registration on FR24.
This visited Birmingham (BHX), not too long ago (was that what you saw?) -

It could be Kevin, but there were no photos, registration or serial number on FR24. I can’t imagine there are many flying tbh, so must have been.

It's carrying an emergency field hospital, according to their website:

I know it's a naff thing to say, given the circumstances, but it is nice to see a DC-8.

Something I've noted, watching all the tanker aircraft going to and from the eastern European countries, is that they avoid Czechian (Czech Republic) air space even though, Czechia is a NATO member (as far as I'm aware).

I think it's just coincidence, Kevin. As I type this Sunday 1238 UTC, a RAF C17 is just entering Czech airspace at FL 370 en route to Rzeszow

Anyone noticed 3 AN124’s have joined in over the last few days? Not sure where they had been previously but I only noticed the first one on Thursday.

Since you mentioned it, I've seen 3 C-17's transit Czechian air space (2 x USAF and 1 x RAF) to/from Rzeszow. But, every tanker (KC-135, KC-10 and A330) along with any Rivet Joint aircraft have all skirted Czechian air space. Many, passing to the north, even when heading to southern Romania.
