Nice find Garry

The Dragonfly was the first helicopter toy I had as a kid....it would be nice to see a decent one in FS

ATB,

Hi Del

I had a toy Dragonfly as well..quite a big thing....or was I very small

Dark blue with red/white tail rotor and tips on main rotors

I had that one too...Dark blue plastic with a gyro operated friction drive on the wheels that rotated the 2-blade rotor at the same time.....must have been the 'Must have' of the period.

Later on I had a BEA Viscount that was very similar but with 4 turning props....very pleased with that one, If I remember it was quite large too (about 12-14" wingspan)

Ahhh...nosatalgia is not what it used to be...

Hi Brian I never had a Viscount but I can remember Woolworths selling an unnamed airliner with a transparent removable top and the passengers could be added or moved around.

That was clearly a Viscount.

There was a range of DC 7's I remember in BOAC livery that were tin and the props went around with the friction drive wheels. Pan Am was also sold.

Couldn't afford them

We were so poor I had to make do with a dead dragonfly my dad found in the garden.

)Yes I remember the winters of long ago when we ALWAYS had snow.....not seen any down here on the South coast for years.

We had posh neighbours in the old days though....they had a bowl of fruit on the table......and NOBODY was ill...!!!!

I know the sort. All us local kids would peer in through the windows hoping to catch a glimse of their telephone.
