Flying around in a Starduster on Saturday (the real deal)

Saturday afternoon I stopped by Gentleman’s house whom I had met recently.

Al ,was introduced to me by a friend of mine and we had
discussion over some electrical problems he was
having and whatnot. He is a friendly man and the conversation
went on to others things,, one of the being, Aeroplanes

You see Al Lives very close to Palm Beach County Park Airport (KLNA) just off the end of runway 27
so the conversation was interrupted several times because of the air traffic. Al told me about a plane he had built and asked if I would care to see it. ,wow , I said sure love to
(if you care to goggle it is between I-95 and Lake Osborne)

Al (on the right) and Bob (on the left) who was the pilot that took me up
Al sold it after giving up flying

Oh and Al’s dog :who thinks he’s ten foot tall and bullet proof:

Al built the plane , I asked him how long it took . He said Twenty Five Years mates
Mostly by himself…… See where the strut holds the top and bottom wing together?
The boot , or trim around the meeting of the two? ….Hand Laid in Place mates
It’s Beautiful

Well without further ado…

Read the Warning , and if you dare…… come onboard and take a ride

Lucky beggar! y'know the Stolp Starduster is old enough to be a 'classic'?

"Louis A. Stolp and George M. Adams designed and built a light sporting biplane known as the Starduster, which flew for the first time in November 1957; and founded Stolp Starduster Corporation to market plans, components and basic materials to amateur constructors. Plans for the original SA-100 single seat Starduster are no longer available, but the company continues to market plans, kits and materials for the SA-300 Starduster Too, which is an enlarged two-seat version and is suitable for engines of 125-260 hp. The prototype SA-300 was powered by a Lycoming O-360-A1A flat-four engine of 180 hp."
