There wa also one late on on a 707 or DC8 (Can't remember) to test special fuel which burnt at a lower temperature when ignighted outside the engine if memory serves? :think:

The anti misting fuel AMK I think it was called
They crashed a radio controlled Boeing 720.
With this it was just a ground run
They also destroyed a Constellation in a similar fashion and I remember a flood damaging some Piper Navajos on the line and the FAA had those to drop from towers on lines to test crash survivability.
