Classic British Flight Sim

Hello all,

Yes, it's me plugging the Canberra, AGAIN. As I hinted a few posts earlier, I've been working on Paul Foster's new T.4 model which has yet to be officially released. I finished all panelling and basic detailing this evening, and just threw on a 'fake' VN799 prototype livery (not finished yet) to show off in testing. I've seen a few shots of T.4s masquerading in this fashion, but I preferred the older ones where a blue closer to 'Petter Blue' was used rather than the 2006 appearance blue.

Anyway, see what you think and I'd love feedback. If anyone can also supply a hex value for the correct Petter Blue, that would be lovely.

Wow that model looks superb, maybe my old Alphasim one might be retired soon!! I voted for 'other' because I love anything with dayglo on

Trev - it is a nice model, I have to agree, and you'll be pleased to know I'm working on a high speed silver scheme with plenty of day glo orange from the Central Flying School. It's funny, I remember you liked the day glo stripes off that old Signals Group repaint I did a while back...the new series of T.4 repaints should be right up your alley (and a certain Royal Navy fan on here )

Still working on repaints, and here's something for the FRADU fans out there. - WJ874 as seen at Brize Norton in 1985. Dirty camp late era schemes to follow next, thanks to those who voted.

I've been in touch with Paul Foster and he is finalising the models before release, I'm sure this will entail removing the starboard side window on the T.4 model (for those that spotted it...Les are you around? ).

Steve, they look really great, I suppose this model is still without a vc? I can use the B8 because of the all round panel views though. Is this model similar?

The other Canberras do have VCs, but they're not exactly functional, if that's what you mean?

You know, I can't remember 100% if this new one has a VC or not, I'll take a spin today and let you know. The old ones that Tweek may be referring to had VCs supplied by Bill Holker I believe, but will check with Paul to see what his plans are here. I know he has worked hard on animations though, and was seeing what he could do to include working camera bay hatches on the PR models. Fingers crossed.

Yes Steve. I think I mentioned that errant window before, only TT.18s had it to allow the nav to check on the stbd Ruston pylon.

As for the schemes . . . The stripped dayglo is my favourite as that's they way T.4's were when I worked on them. Also, would be contemporary with your B(I)8 schemes as all the B(I)8 sqns had at least one 'stripped dayglo' T.4 as conversion and continuation trainers. No dayglo strip on the inside of the tip tanks though, outside only as I recall. Mind you, I can get shot down on this if someone produces a photo!

Another interesting one-off would be 50 Sqn's T.4 which sported Suez invasion stripes in black an yellow.

Also, the T.4 can also be shown in full camo scheme as it was in its later years.

Anything silvery and day-glo does it for me.
