The TV mini series is the one to get on DVD. 4 hours 42 minutes of Das Boot...it doesn't get much better than that. :dance:

I also saw this as the TV mini series (Beeb2, if I remember correctly).
One of the best programs that I've seen. Viewed from a human perspective, showing the true horrors of the U-boat crews as seen from their eyes.
You didn't so much watch it, as live it.
Herr Buchheim, excelled in his ability to show the fears and anguish of the crew.

I got the TV series on for DVD for Christmas. I first watched it when it was broadcast in 1984 I think.
One of the most powerful war films ever made.
