Traffic Tools killed my FS9!

Has anyone ever seen a problem similar to this?

I ran Traffic Tools tonight to change an AI flight details, decompiled the default bgl, (copied the files away) made a change and recompiled.

Now when FS is started, I get the splash screen then it bombs. No error messages, nothing in the event log.

Even reinstating the original files has no effect -- Help!

And you haven't installed ANYTHIGN in between.....not some new sky-textures, or a new afcad, just now you were at it?...

It seems very strange that a changed traffic file should kill FS...

Yes I know Dan - well strange.

Just edited the aircraft name in the decompiled file, recompiled and tried to restart FS - instant failure. Nothing else done in between at all.

Going to copy over some of the FS9 files from my safe areas on other machines and see what happens.

Try decompiling again and double check that the aircraft name is indeed alike...not to have included a silly " or such....I've been there too....but normally that should just end up in a no-show....not a ctd.

Just done a system restore back to yesterday, and FS is now working but oh so slow. Must have corrupted a system file or two.

Ah well... I was bu****ed there for a while, can't make anything with FSDS if you can't see it in FS!

Thanks for the support Dan

The only thing that Ttools would change in FS9 would be the Traffic.bgl file that you recompiled...nothing else. It is dubious that a Traffic.bgl would prevent FS9 starting but disabling just that one file will put FS9 back if it does...Just rename that bgl file to OriginalName.bgl.dis That .dis on the end of it will prevent it from loading.
