Fuel Supply problems

we are heading for a fuel supply crisis here in ontario canada. due to a fire in a terminal in toronto, there has been a resupply problem in various bulk storage terminals in ontario. the terminal i work out of has now just ran out of fuel. this terminal normally holds 2 million ltrs of mixed product. this can supply all the fuel stations here in ottawa. well now i have to drive to montreal. a round trip of 460kms, after loading and driving and unloading takes me 13hrs. that is to give only two station's 25,000ltrs of mixed fuel each.
there are now signs of the impending crisis as station closedown due to no fuel. this situation is getting worse by the day. last night the terminal in montreal also ran out of fuel for three hours. the back log of trk waiting to fuel was very long. my last station i resupplied was swarmed as i was trying to get in, then once the hose's were connected to the undergroung tanks it was everyone for himself.
thankfully i have known about this for the last five days so both cars are fully fueled and also i have 8 gallons stored in the garage. hopefully this might get me through the next two weeks. i hate to think what will happen if the refinery in montreal can't cope with the massive drain on their stock. you never know i might have to have armed guard riding shoot gun in the cab.

That sounds like a very dodgy situation, not to mention the increased stress of the extra driving you have to do.

Glad I only pull fruit and veg around,Remember your life is worth more than your load.

Take care,

Pete.
