I just talked to the old party who worked at PSA - who confirmed the story of the seeing eye dog - it was at Sacremento he thinks1968 or 69 he even remembered the Captains name - He also gave me another PSA story for you all

PSA Flight Attendants wore micro mini dress's back then with company issued frilly knickers - apparently he called in a reserve (read - new) FA to cover the last flight of the morning bank from San Diego - She rushed to the airport and was tossed into the crew bus to go to the waiting acft at the gate -
Jim got a phone call about ten minutes later from the hostie saying she couldn't operate the flight - when asked why she after a long pause owned up that she wasn't wearing her frilly knickers - to which Jim replied that it wasn't a problem he would get a pair from the uniform store and send them over - she said she just couldn't do the flight as when she had gotten to the aircraft they had already boarded the flight and in front of god and 87 passengers she had reached up to the overhead (no bins in those days) and displayed her ahemmmm wares so to speak to all the passengers (who were mostly businessmen fgoing up to SFO) and that they had all burst out in applause and she was to embarassed to fly - Jim told her she HAD to fly - but when she got back to San Diego took her aside and asked her how she had driven to the airport etc etc and NOT realised she was missing something - her reply was she was so scared she would miss her assignment she had never even noticed

Cheers
