And while you're over there, try out the DC-3C BETA. Should be a perfect fit for us. It even bites back when you abuse it.

Odd, every time I try to access the dutch site an update attempt on Microsoft Office tries to start. When I cancel it, Explorer crashes. Back to Mozilla!

Chris,

Do you know if the new DC-3 be used with flynet?.If so i am going to teach myself how to fly it properly and get my rating back for it.

Cheers,

Pete.

It was built to be 100% compatible with the default aircraft, so it should have no problems with FlyNET.

Hi Pete,

The 'new' DC3 is the default DC3 with new panel and airfiles by the sounds of it - all existing repaints will fit. The guy who's done it has done it for his own personal benefit to throw random failures at him. Reports on the forum of double engine failures do not enamour me to this particualr aircraft with the failures turned on. However, with the random failures turned off, you can still get engine failures if you abuse/don't operate the aircraft correctly a'la 748. We keep the VA aircraft well maintained to avoid the FlyNET 'random' failures so I wouldn't like to see it operated on FlyNET with the inbuilt random failures on. No harm in trying it with them turned off as long as you learn to operate the aircraft by the book to avoid pilot induced failures.

Rgds

John

There are no random failures on this panel. It only fails if you abuse it. The issue reported in the forum was with turning the MS default failures to max.

Hi Chris,

Unlike some, I do RTFM. From the DC-3C Operations Manual :

Had a whizz round in it last night, and i have to say i quite like it.All the check lists are there on the kneeboard for referance.Like you said John as with the 748 providing you fly to the checklists and keep everything within limits you won't have any problems with failiures set to never.

Just a shame it's not as pretty as the 748
