Should the doors be closed when the u/c is down on UKMIL/AlphaSim Harrier package?
I prefer Ito's model and I can live without a VC so I'm trying to get it to work instead but without much luck. Somewhere on a forum I once saw the changed figures to do this. Anyone?

What exactly are you trying to fix/get to work ?

anything to do with animations, such as doors, are fixed in the model, and therfore, we are unable to change that.
as for hte Kaz model, i take it you mean actaully to get it to fly correctly. We can do exactly the same for that model as we did for the alphasim model, but i doubt we can get the VTOl to work, as Rob will only allow his Vtol items to be on harriers that actually visually work correctly, i.e, the flaps and nozzles move in the correct sequence

here is a side view of the harrier, clearly showing the doors closed

as far as i am aware, this is the same on all harriers, inc the sea harrier!
which leads me on to my next topic,
we are about the release our Sea Harrier for FSX, with all new VTOL effect by Rob, which is 100% better than the fs9 VTOL system, being much more realisitc

All the info I've seen would indicate this is spot-on, the doors are closed to avoid ingesting anything during the hover phase. To be honest I would have been very surprised if Alphasim had got that sort of thing wrong.

They often appear open parked up.....maybe a power off issue?

....but powered up in the air they always seem closed.

Akshully Garry opened by the groundcrew so they can do all the pre and post flight stuff, nosegear doors are hydraulically actuated whilst the main gear doors use a mechanical linkage from from the gear leg.

Thanks Pete
I have often wondered why they sometimes are open on the ground
So they are openend up as sort of access hatches than closed up again

You learn something every day, but I still think it looks weird.
Problem is the Ito Harrier was OK in FS2002 but doesn't like my FS9. With 4 pos'n flaps, by pos'n 3 (37deg) it takes the full 80 deg of trim up to stay level. Any more than that, forget it! Things are a little better with Alejandro Villa's 9 pos'n modified files.

it might have been easier to ask for a new FDE for the ito harrier then
