Classic British Flight Sim

Thought these may be of interest, I made a seperate post so as not to detract from Blue On Blue.

For me a much loved old Aircraft on approach you may have seen pics of the one that also ran over a Mk7 mine resting on it's right wing tip with the right man gear detatched, also a Saladin in its blast pen

The Beverley shot is great as it show just what the Beverley was all about

Garry that runway is about 4000ft with a faily steep approach with the hills so close, they actually took the same route out, it is the same strip XM106 encountered the mine. Hunters used to do T+G's there though I only saw one, deployed his drogue on touch and dumped it a second later.

Mum pops in occasionally - I tell her to take a look although shes a wee bit before that time frame She got her start at the Depot at Donnington wiring up Big round Engines in Sextons and Priests She talks frequently with the folks at the REME Museum as she was one of the first two female electrical (or any other type of) fitters to be assigned to REME (1942 I beleive)



But the Beverly brings back happy memories for me too - Except the one I saw all the time was Courtlines great brown whale that just sat and mouldered

Lief yes a different time frame indeed I was born in July 1942 give my regards to your Mum.

I actually learned to drive and got my licence on a Saladin, a very nice drive, did the Saracen and Stalwart too.

You just did Rich - She drops by the forum and reads the posts quite frequently -she likes to keep her hand in She has a long history in the British Aviation industry (actually our whole family do)

Thanks for the links and I know my old mum min will have a great time
leafing throught them as well - whats really rather odd is I remember in
the early to mid 60s listening to "two way family favorites" on a Sunday
afternoon and wondering where all these places were and who the "trooper, sapper, etc etc was - now after all these years you have
helped make the connection. It always amazed me ALL the places our
military seemed to be back then
