Hi Guys

Had Bikes as long as i can remember so did my Dad,Grandad etc.

My 2004 Kawasaki Z1000

Painted it yesterday as it was Orange and had started to fade badly so it went Kawasaki "Ebony" solid black"

Badges on order. :worried:

Bought new in May 2004
modifications all by me include
R&G Case Sliders.
Kawasaki Upper Sliders.
MW Bar End Mirrors.
Techlusion TFI (secondhand Ebay)
Airbox Mod.
Kawasaki Adj Screen.
Repainted Black Wheel Centres.
2005 B1H ZX6R Rear Shock (secondhand Ebay)
2006 C1H ZX10R Forks & Radial calipers. (secondhand Ebay)
Now Painted Ebony. (painted myself)
Hindle 4-2-1 System. (secondhand Ebay)
Lightly flowed cylinder head.
Adjustable cam sprockets. (secondhand Ebay)
Gold CRG Levers. (secondhand Ebay)
Ermax Belly Pan. (secondhand Ebay)
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tyres.
B-One (Oz) wheels with Braking discs.(soon)
plus tons of other mods and polished parts.

Just fitted the exhaust and modified the cylinder head so it now needs setting up on a dyno as it feels a little fluffy compared to how it was last summer with a 4 into1 Micron & std cylinder head.

was 138 BHP @ the rear wheel am hoping for 150 BHP to match a good standard GSXR1000 K6 (as most of the guys i ride with have them) :doh:

standard was 121 BHP @ the rear wheel :wink: fiddle,fiddle,fiddle,

Needs a wash as i just did a 50 mile shakedown after putting it back together and roads are covered in Umbala today :doh:

Yes matey.

Just edited it to add a pic of how it was last year.
even that shot is not much like when i bought it new.

i just can't leave them alone.

But i do not go too mad and buy as much as i can off Fleabay to save dosh.

most people only keep them for 1 year and sell all their addon parts when they are only a few months old as a std bike is what you trade in and sell off all the goodies.

I buy a new bike every year but this one has nothing i want more to replace it so it's a keeper. :wink:

Wonderful photos Rick, used to love the two wheeled experience, can't beat the thrill of the wind into the helmet with the visor up (until a wasp or some other nasty flies in to keep you company)!! :lol:

Unfortunately my biking days came to grief on Christmas Eve when going home from work.....a dog unsaddled me on a country road, mind you, Christmas dinner in hospital with nurses tending to my needs made it a bit more bearable!!

Nah the Z750 is just about identical to the Z1000 and all my mods also work on the 750.

The main problem with the Z1000/Z750 is the cheap standard suspension
but easy to fix from using std Kawasaki parts from other models.

Like Mine
I fitted a whole front end from a 2005 ZX10R complete with the Radial Brakes etc & the rear shock & linkage from the ZX6r on the rear which gives back the quality & adjustability that Kawasaki seems to think we didn't want.

All these parts are readily available on Ebay for pittance money which is handy as they would be silly money from Kawasaki. :smile:

Rick,

My Zed is pretty standard at the moment and I'm happy with the engine as it is. You're right about the suspension though and on the 750 the brakes are pretty weak as well.

A mate has an Italian suspension kit fitted to his Z750 with new fork internals with a pre-load adjuster plus a longer tie bar, is that the right word, for the rear suspension. He reckons it's a good improvement, I'll have to try it as soon as the weather allows.

Forgot to mention the Bonnie has aluminium barrels and wheel rims, the silencers are Norman Hyde straight through ones and the rear shocks are Hagon. I've also got the original American fuel tank.

Agreed the Daytona 675 is gorgeous. I'm tempted by another sports bike, the Z750 was an attempt to slow down a bit. I suppose in terms of top speed it's worked .... a bit. :redface:

The Triumph's for going slow, it falls apart if you do anything else. :lol:
