00800 numbers

Hi all,

Can anyone assist with regards to 00800 numbers. Are they the same as 0800 (ie free to call?). I am currently in the process of upgrading to VISTA via ACER's upgrade program and have had problems with the form as when it gets to the final page it crashes.

I am therefore trying to contact the call-centre which is based in Holland and it does'nt state on the details whether the call is free or not. And I don't fancy a BT bill for £254.78 next time around!

Tried Googling but not found a definate answer. Anyone assist?

Hullo mate,

Nothing on the BT site that I could find, but then it's always a nightmare trying to search their web site

All the other sites I looked state that 00800 is a Universal International Freephone Number. This site seems to explain it the best.

HTH,

Rgds,

Colin

Eddie

It could be that 00800 numbers are free

0800 numbers are only free in the UK otherwise they are premium rates.

That might be the difference

Give Bournemouth Airport a ring....they might know

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I think they are free having done some more hunting around last night. I think staff at Bournmouth Airport are about to serve me with an ASBO so I'd better not contact them again! :worried:

00800 numbers are free.

I regularly use one to call in to our US facility. Either that or it has not yet appeared on my phone bill
