All this talk about Mike Stone 'leaving the field' reminded me I did a grey/white scheme for his Pioneer CC1 some time ago. A remarkable aircraft, both for real and Mike's model. It brings new meaning to the term 'STOL' as it takes off at around 37 kts with full flap!
When we lived at Benson a couple of Squadron pilots flew their Pioneers off direct from the dispersal during a BoB display, just to show they didn't need runways of any sort!
If anyone's interested I guess I could post the texture file too.
It's not visible but the airspeed in the climb-out shot is 45 kts........

Looks good Kit...apart from perhaps a mip problem
Why not load it up to Classic British Files?

Garry,
Surely I can do that. Would you like to expand on the 'mip problem' please?
That's one of the aspects of this repainting lark that mystifies me just now.

Hi Kit
Saving with mips make it look fuzzy on most cards.
Look at the top of the wing in the screenshot.it's a little soft/blurred
Re save the texture maps in DXTBMP but look at the tick box on the right that says include mips.
Make sure that is unchecked.
So you will be re saving them as they are now but without the mips.
Give it a try and I am sure you will notice them become a lot sharper.

Garry,
You learn something new every day, even at my age!
Thank you kindly, I'll get right on that and see how it goes.
Thanks very much.

Hi,
As a lad I went to RAF Valley on a school trip and saw a Beaver take off into a very strong headwind. To this day I'd swear I saw it take off, "hover" for a second or two about 100ft off the ground, then slowly move off as the throttle was wound up.
Very spooky

Garry,
After struggling to try and improve that mip business I found my graphics card was set to a mip level of 4. Turning it up to 6 improved things no end and the roundels are now as sharp as you could wish! Duh..........
I'll zip up the set and post in the next week having sorted that out.
Thanks for pointer, I'd never have sorted it otherwise.

Nice one Kit
The mips is a setting that perhaps needs changing sometimes only by one number........not a lot, but what a difference.
Nice to be able to help out

Kit
Are you posting the file at Classic British files??
I happen to like Mikes Pioneer alot - it gets flown frequently
Usually from Butterworth

Leif,
Yes, I'll do that.
I think '466 was a Butterworth based a/c at one time too. I often wonder how they got them out there, presumably packed inside a Beverley, it would take about 6 months to FLY a Pioneer out there from UK!
