Making FS2004 like FS X??

Despite the demo running well, I like many others have been dissapointed with overall performance of FS X now that I have forked out for the full version.

However I have fallen for some of the "eye candy" and am considering throwing some money at FS2004 to try and capture the bits I like, for flying low and slow, mainly in the UK.

With that in mind....

Is there an add on program to provide the head latency feature (similar to the one included for REALAir Spitfire, I think there used to be something as part of Active Camera, but I can't see it featured in the FS2004 version.

What is the recomended terrain mesh for FS2004?

Is Flight 1 Ground enviroment pro II any good?

What about Ultimate terrain Europe??

Do I need both?

Any other eye candy enhacments recommended?

thanks and Happy New Year to all

I use GE Pro II, FS Global SE, Real Environment Pro and Real Sky V2.1 in FS2004. I did buy UT Europe but didn't like it so removed it and got a refund.

My FS looks like so:

I also use Flightzone scenery, fantastic details including better moving vehicles than FSX and great FR's even with everything at max. If FSX was half as good as this, I would have been happy.

The area covered allows very good VFR flying in all types of aircraft.

I've got to agree with Trevor there, the Flightzone stuff is magic! As is the latter 'FlyTampa' scenery. As for Flight envoronment and Ground Environment I use them both and can highly recommend them.

Oh and the latest Extreme Gatwick is a personal favourite of mine

Kind regards

John

Ps my FSX is uninstalled and will remain so for some time

I'm not all that keen on the water myself. The colour is spot on but as for the texture....

Colin, You're right about FSX performance!

My Computer spec is:
AMD Athlon 64 4800 1+1 Megabyte Cache 939 Socket dual core overclocked to 2.6 Megahertz
ASUS Motherboard A8N SLI
Typhoon fan/heatsink
1 37 Gigabyte Raptor SATA Hard-drive
1 300 Gigabyte regular SATA Hard-Drive
1 Gigabyte RAM
1 Gainward 7600GT silent Bliss Golden sample CPU

and 6 to 10 frames in Seattle!

Best and Warm Regards
