How can I get rid of those ridiculous airport buildings that appear to have been dropped at random onto British Airfields in FS9?

Hi Paul,

An interesting question and one I've not seen before. Most of us usually hide them with either payware or freeware alternatives.. that is, cover the entire airport not just the 'standard' buildings. Many of the smaller default airfields don't have any buildings at all and I have to say even one would be nice

There is probably an answer out there but I fear it would be rather complicated for the novice

Paul,

There is a procedure called an 'exclude file' which can be generated to do just that, but of course you end up with an entirely flat airfield with just the runways, taxiways and ramps.

I've done a few of these in my time, but I'd have to dredge the depths of my memory to remember exactly how. DaveB has the best solution, put something else there in their place, and there is a plethora of choice around, not the least being Garry Simmons' UK2000 scenery.

go to avsim and download a little utility named ExcBuilder, which does what it say's on the tin, creates exclude files easily.

To use it you'll also need the fs2004 bglcomp from the scenery sdk, d/l from microsoft, and another little file named fsconnect, also at avsim.
