This enormously useful search no longer seems to operate. This has only occurred since the glitch on the board earleir this week. Can anyone explain or rectify this please?

Perhaps in the meantime deleting the CBFS cookie might be worth a try

Nothing has changed this end mate, other than the upgrade last night, but this functionality has not been removed. Whats more, is the clitches earlier in the week did not affect the forum whatsoever, they were a problem in the name resolution which is done on another server and nothing to do with the forum.
I'm inclind to agree with Garry, and that it may be a cookie problem. Delete the cbfs cookie and clear your browsers cache and you should be fine.

Nice one Chris
Nothing like cookies for holding on to bad data without you even thinking of them

Hi
Each time the glitch has occurred for me I've had to log on again and tick the 'remember me' box again. If you are not logged on you will not have that feature as it doesn't know who you are. Look at the top of the page under the google search box, the last link is to 'log out' if the cookie has logged you in, or to 'log in' if the cookie hasn't.

HELP!!.
Ever since you had a problem with the site,no matter what i do,and yes i have tried the above fix,but still it will not cancell the last post as i visit them,so i dont know which i have looked at.
the odd thing is,that today i clicked on the chippie link,to take a look see,so i could find out how big the file was,but did not download it.
on returning to this forum,i found all the files i had visited, where cleared of the new additions.
any help as to what i should be looking for,to try and rectify the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
regards alan.

Hi,
It sounds like one of your settings has changed, maybe with an MS update somehow. Anyway, try this. In your browser, on the menu, go to TOOLS > Internet Options > Temporary Internet Files > Settings. Once there, make sure "Check for newer version of stored pages" has "Every visit to the page" highlighted. If it's not, selected it, close that page and then hit the 'Apply' button for Internet Options.
Hope that helps.

Hi Alan,
As John has ointed out, this is a good one to check. Just to clarify though, we have had no problems with the site that would affect this, other than the cookie thing. I would suggest deleting your cookies, but this would clear your login details from other sites too, not just ours. The only other thing it could be is some very agressive anti spyware type tool which is not allowing the cookie to be saved in the first place. Our cookie name is cbfs and cookie domain is cbfsim.org.
Hope you get it sorted.
