Hi guys,

Dan posted a link to some FS9 videos in another thread but thought that I'd pick this one out as it's FSX with the JustFlight Real VFR. All I can say is, I am gobsmacked. The vid is a thing of beauty in it's own right. I can't wait until I can build a rig that will run like this.

Dial up warning : 'High Definition' file 167mb

View as art, not as "Yea but you'll need a computer the size of the pentagon to run it." We know that already.

Rgds

Awsome! No other word for it. Once I get this new PC running (later next year) its defibnately on my shopping list. Dissapointed it still doesn't include Scotland though (or Ireland for that mater)

That is awsome. Hope they do editions for other parts of the world after hopefully completing the Isles.

Is it just me or is that video 'jerky'. Tried playing it after re-starting my pooter and it was stop-start-stop-start all the way through! But, from what I saw FSX will be a huge improvement over previous incarnations. Those water textures will be to die for  I've started saving for my next computer, so I should have it by February or March (2009). :-({|=

Hi Keith

On my machine at least, the video is perfectly smooth

Thanks for the quick reply, Garry. It must be my machine. Ah, well. Two years isn't too long to wait!!

Very nice, even some "Ahh de Havilland" equipment (shame it was DHC not DH but hey). Lots of Top Gear style vignetting in the clips though

What interested me the most was the lighting of the hills etc. Have M$ actually improved the raycasting in the graphics engine (its rather harsh in FS04 and all previous versions) or do the clouds actually cast shadows on the ground in this version?
