Hi all,
I've been having problem with my water..ahem.
I mean that at altitude I get this view and it only seems to be with add-on packages. ie aquarama or this one(I forget which one this is).
Is there a tweek or slider that I should adjust to avoid that horrid block shape on the horizon?

I "sea" what you mean Eddie
I get a similar problem and always have.
With addons it seems to happen to a greater or lesser extent
Glad tou raised it as hopefully someone has an answer.

I remembered Kimber posting something about this a long time ago and finally found it.

 I wonder
This is something I've suffered from day one I'm sad to say and I still find it most anoying :tab: On the short flights I do from JER to GUE.. I often start off with that cr@p aquamarine colour then 10miles out.. it goes to dark blue!! :k: Having progs like FSWater/FSEnv doesn't seem to cure it either

I just ignore it myself. It isnt as noticeable dpending on the water textures your using.
Allthough it isnt often that I venture above 15k feet

I seem to recall that link when it was originally posted. Will try it again though.
Its a real pain we I do high altitude cruising as all you see is horrible blocks of water meshs trying to form. Like Jonesey says anything under 15,000ft is pretty much ok. Shame the canopies of cloud can't cover the whole of the land beneath you a little more realistically.
Blimey this is turning into a 'hate FS9' day. I love it really.

15,000ft  You don't think I get to 15,000ft in the Rapide going from Jersey to Guernsey do you!!

A 1000ft tops and I see it so strictly speaking, it is not altitude oriented

Concur Dave
Not altitiude affected
I do a lot of low level circuits just to screen shot and look at the paint and it is a constant annoyance to me....Infact I was only talking to Tont about it yesterday.

The way I see it is as follows.
The problem does not exist with the default water texture.
No matter which water replacement textures I have tried (and that's a lot) they all turned out with the same effect.
So after all those different textures I settled for Aquarama, and them I reduced my visibility to 60 miles, and the cloud draw distance the same.
I still have some of it, but it disappears more or less because of the poorer visibility length. (which by the way isn't that long away from reality)
Here's an example from FL330 (the red line indicates the different textures):
Just before it is time for a refreshment
Just after
It's a bit more evident when seeing it live, but with the reduced visibility and the table-fog, it is very much to live with.
I hope this could be of some help...
This by the way is taken in spot view and you can see the break in the upper right corner:
I still think it is bearable.

I believe this is related to the "blurry ground textures" issue where you get horrendously badly rendered blocks of texture outside the one you are flying on. Something to do with how FS9 prioritises things and chucks the pixels out at the screen; and I've never found a 100% satisfactory fix.
