Shot on the island of Barra, which boasts Britain's most unique airport - the runway is the beach.
as per movie trivia, but wondering if this location exists

It's even in flightsim!! Most disconcerting when you try and find the runway for the first time so thank goodness FS9 doesn't have tides!

On my FS its and airport of sorts
A famous aviation historian/writer who traveled thousand of hours commented on Barra
The aircraft after landing taxied to the terminal and was parked into wind
He climbed aboard a Trislander and experienced a first.....the engines were started and they took off without taxing

Rumours that copper wire was invented by two Scots fighting over a penny are entirely without fact.

Hmmm! Copper wire frae a penny indeed :tuttut: We're nae that wealthy aroond these parts.
Seriously though, anyone with the Visual Flight "Scotflight" scenery will have a very reasonable interpretation of Barra "airport" (EGPR) unlike the absolute traversty that Microsoft included. And if you fancy trying out the only scheduled air services that land on a beach in the western world (so I'm told) then go to Barra soon as they are discussing installing a hard runway replacement within a few years. Mind you, I haven't a clue where they'll put it - look at an Ordnance Survey map of the island and you'll see why.
Regards from a very gale-swept Hebridean island,
Andy
