A question about RWY taxiing..

Hi
I'm fiddling with a way to clear the RWY a bit quicker, than the default 20 knots taxing the AI uses on the RWY's.
quite a few utilities around, but now I would like to ask if there is an "appropriate" speed limit for taxiing on the RWY?
I have currently set my AI to taxi 25 knots on the TWY and 35 knots on the RWY, is that far fetched? Or could I even raise the RWY speed to say 40-45?....
The gain would be a quicker leave from the RWY and thereby some lesser go-arounds (I also use AISmooth) but I still think that the AI uses too long time to turn off.

Wouldn't be too far fetched for Ryanair!

Turning off on only two wheels are they? ;-)

PeterM might be able to help here. He stated a setting (which I can't remember) to help keep things running nicely at McLeland Field. It was certainly more than the default but by how much, I honestly don't know

I use FS9 Configurator > Tools > Set AI Taxi Speed...then I put them at the suggested maximums of 32knots and 37knots. These speeds are perfectly realistic and on long straight taxiways I have gone faster in real life.
It is interesting to watch the "intelligence" used when they taxy...slowing for each intersection and slowing right down in congested placed. These max speeds make one hell of a difference to the runway clearance and reduces the number of go-arounds greatly.
BTW...If you really want them to crawl slowly into a certain place...for instance to force them to slow right down before turning into a parking space and be lined up when they stop...place one or two blue nodes close together where you want to slow them (AFCAD work).

You have it in a nutshell there, Peter, and if anybody finds traffic
in UK2000 Scenery takes too long pootling around a close study
of the AFCADs should give the answer. I don't know why but some
of them have dozens of unnecessary blue dots even on straight
bits of taxiway. A few edits can make a lot of difference.
If I remember rightly, when FS2004 was released, Microsoft upped
the taxying speed from 20 to 40 knots to try and keep traffic moving.
I used a utility to adjust the speeds in FS2002 but haven't touched
2004 for this reason. Certainly I found myself being
threatened meancingly by an RAF Hercules sniffing my hind quarters
the other day . . .
