V.nice Pete - number 2 especially captures the essence (if that's the right word) of the Spitfire beautifully

I found a hill last week... the one and only I think  Couldnt really see much from it though  Its a really different experience living up here... 10 mins out of the town in any direction and you are in the middle of nowhere, with no significant places for about 30 mins drive in any direction. London obviously is a lot further away and again, a long train ride through unending, rather flat countryside to get there... not that I should be complaining I guess. Dont anyone let on about this to Prescott though or he'll have it concreted over like hte South East in no time.

Quite bizarre here that you have a lot of good road links yet not much in the way of built up areas whereas in my original part of the world, you have a lot more built up areas but far fewer major A roads or motorways

But you have move to the contrary

I'd love that nothingness..really appeals to me

Nearly three thousand people per square mile and hardly anywhere to go whithout seeing buildings etc...choked roads and little parking.
