Garry,

I scanned this photo of a Northeast Viscount thinking it disproved your theory of the yellow underwings.

Instead I am convinced  - the large scan clearly shows silver edges but then yellow.

I have uploaded a large BMP version for your benefit:

And while you are doing Vikings, here's an alternative Pegasus.

Hi Ian

Northeast Viscounts had yellow wings underneath.....that is a fact.

I used to see them fly over daily.

I did a NE/BA Viscount and that has the yellow underwing.

You'd think that British Air Services titles would be clear of the baggage door

Never! It's British. It's probably a design feature. Also note the yellow boarding stairs beneath the aeroplane.. requiring passengers to bend over backwards through the gear bay, and climb through the wing root just to get to thier seats!

Anyway. Nice scheme! Certainly don't see any like that anymore.

Dan.

It' annoying when you know something.....I am still trying to find a pic that proves what I KNOW but is generally not believed...... Northeast Viscounts had yellow wings underneath
Garry,

I didn't know that you had already done the repaint - I saw your comment in the thread about VC10 tail props and thought that I would provide the photographic proof at last. That photo was on the back cover of one of volumes of British Independent Airlines.

I didn't recall that I had seen any of these, then found a black and white photo of one taking off from LAP.
