A first look at REP...

I thought I would fly a quick local sortie to try this freeware REP (Real Environment Professional) package. Here are the shots I took:-

A lot of these will be of the water...which I'm very interested in.

Now for a closer look at the water...the seagulls show nicely here.

The circling sharks certainly look good in this water.
A much more complete sequence can be seen by clicking this address:-

I've been using REP since it was released. The changes to the water are pretty good and I'm pleased with it. It's a doddle to install as well.

Well I'm only just starting with it CB and I'm very impressed with a well written package. I particularly like the water which gets closer to aspects of the FSX water, which I do like and wish I could have here in FS9. One thing I particularly like is the ability to tick a weather box to bring in wet or snowy textures as above. Overall, I rate REP very highly and look forward to exploring it more.
Last night I took some dusk shots with the "out of season" snow and I'll add them to my full post sometime today

i've enjoyed REP, the water is far from realistic very attractive to view on screen. the faux cloud reflections are also very nice, even in clear weather
i didn't realise about the snow textures however - looks like some fun winter..fun!

Hinch,
I've put up some more "Unseasonal Snow" shots in the main post, if you would like to look again

Peter, just out of curiosity, whose blue smoke effect is that?

Tom,
That's just part of the smoke effects I've used on my Bandits since 2002...some I built and some I modified from existing ones...The red, white and blue display trails are a sort of Bandit signature and they are named "fx_banditsmoke_(red, white or blue here).fx". Some of the smoke effects have been published in my Turbo Conversions for the Dreamfleet Archer and Bonanza A36.
