Well, along with my mate Neil (who spends his days looks after Concorde and the rest of the AVP aircraft at Manchester), we have a new project to work on in our spare(!) time :D (we may persuade Toby to get involved a little bit now he works near me! ;) )

Today we relocated the Trident Procedures Simulator from Cosford to my company's unit in Leicestershire....

The sim has spent quite a while hidden in the HAS on the far side of RAF Cosford (a true Aladdin's Cave!) and is surplus to requirements - it has been donated to the Trident Preservation Society for conversion to a flight sim for members of the public to experience and we have already removed and secured the instruments, panels, etc.

We have quite a bit of work to do but watch this space..... :)

Sounds interesting.

It has been locked out of sight for a long time. I remember turning up there to take some shots for the VC, only to find a gap where it used to be.
The nice attendant who I used to see there told me it had only been moved two days before.
It obviously lowered the tone. :dunno:
Thank goodness they didn't smash it to pieces like the rest of my favourite exhibits.

Anyway, enough ranting.
Best of luck with it.

Cheers. Plan is to shorten the shell slightly - easily done since this is plywood and the steel frame has a separate section that can be removed. Once this is done, we can convert the heavy duty steel frame in to a towable trailer .....
