Hunter Exercises...

While the Navy and Air Force Hunters are exercising here at my base, the military have been persuaded to make out ten special parking spots for them...The chaps have been trying them out for the first time today in rather gloomy weather. No captions are necessary for these except for Dave Garwood...What do you think about that strange vertical landing light in shot 3 Dave?

Great shots Peter.

Is that in FSX? The landing light is obviously on, but not extended  Maybe the tag I used for that isn't available in FSX. There is not much I can do until I get the retail version and the SDKs.
I'll add it to the list

Hell no Dave...I don't have my base or the AI Hunters looking that good in FSX...That is FS9  I'll have to check whether it does that on the others

 I'm even more confused now
If it's doing it on all the AI Hunters (single & twin seat) then I rekon it must be a limitation in the FS9 AI programing. If so, there's not much I can do about it.

Dave, I'll look into it...I may have broken it when making the AI version...BTW I would still like an old Model version that retains the drop tanks as AI if you have one lurking there

Beautiful skies Peter, what settings were you using to generate that?

Ah Toby,

Those settings are autoloaded by GE Pro after it has checked the METARS. It also decides, on the basis of how much cloud cover there is over the route, which ground textures to load...I has a set of choices ranging from "Clear Skies" to " Fully overcast"...Having made these choices with reference to the latest METARs it installs them in FS9 before it is fired up.

So basically I fly with different textures each time I have run GE Pro and I don't really keep a record of the settings

I guessed there was an element of pot luck to it. 99% of the time I fly, I use boring default settings in middle-ish time of the day in the Summer months and I end up with a sky that looks like it should be part of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon, but once in a while, lighting and weather conspire to put on a really realistic and beautiful sky

My internet connection is down at home ATM (browsing from work for now), but I'll sort you something out as soon as I'm back online

Thanks a lot Dave...They are going to fly rather a long way and they would look right with tanks
