Hi,

Whilst holidaying recently in The Lake District, I spotted this in a shop window and could only resist the temptation for 24 hours before I went back and bought it. A very nice piece of art with a 17.5" wingspan.

A very nice purchase. Did the shop owner know of any history behind your sculpture? Just curious.

Hi Brian,

No history behind the model itself as it's a 'new build'

£250 John!!!

You must have a very understanding wife!!

Very nice though I must say

I had a similar incident with an original Valiant Flight Manual (which still had the checklists in the rear cover). I saw it at Duxford on one of the stalls and it bothered me greatly that I couldn't afford it. It bothered me so much I phoned the company up on the following Tuesday and bought it  £80.. sold to the cabbage with the Visa card!!  Bless.. they didn't charge me postage either

Lovely!

That Mossie is gorgeous too! I'd be tempted if I had that kind of cash around.

£140 almost seems like a bargain  There's a lot of metal for your money mind you and it is an impressive model  I have a silver Concorde (no.1670 of a limited 2,450 run) which has a £5 commemorative coin set into the wooden base and comes with a note of authenticity signed by someone or other that the good lady bought as a christmas present for me but in all honesty, I get a lot more pleasure from my BEA Red Square 'MA' Comet  It's one of the Corgi Classic Collection which I'm sure many of you are familiar with  Pity they never got round to doing the 1-11, Trident and VC10
