Hi Ben
I'm sure there must have been. From research so far, the only one that's popped up is Southend-Tenerife with a Viking. I'm sure the Comet's probably went there maybe Airtours or Dan Air but no direct references. A lot of the books have vague mentions of IT flights but no specifics.

Thanks Garry,
I've just added Manchester - Tenerife onto my to-do list for the Comet, Gatwick was already on it .

Dan Air started Tegel with 2 1-11s - rotated back to LTN on a regular basis
They operated Turkish Migrants from IST/IZM - after about 2 years of operation they were expanded to German IT flights to the usual bucket and spade destinations (LEPA/LEIB/LEMG/LEGE etc etc - ) To the best of my knowledge Dan Air Comets never operated full service - they replaced the 1-11s when they went to maintnenance - however the 727s did join the 1-11s in Tegel because there was Boeing maintenance available there
Beyond 1980 I cant tell you but I believe the 727s were replaced yet again
by 737s but the 1-11s continued almost to the end of their days
