Can anyone tell how to open doors on Ricks Vanguard & Viscount.
The usual shift E will not do it.
Many thanks

Hello mate,
The doors on the Vanguard will open with the engines off using shift+e and on the Viscount with the engines and lights off using shift+e

Thanks for the help Dave, still got a problem though got exits opened on the Vanguard but can't close them.
Is it still shift E or do they close another way.
Can't get Viscount to work at all, are there any other switches you need to turn off other than lights.
I thought I saw sometime ago that the exits do not operate on the 700's.
Thanks

While we are talking vanguards -
Dave, Fraser or PeterMc- what are the best cruise settings for the Guardsvan ?? Im still teaching myself to fly the thing and am AMAZED at how fast it motors along - right now - cruising in the mid 20s on 90 min or longer sectors using 13000rpm/740TGT/300PSI torque Im getting 295knts IAS and 375 across the gound (still air) at about 1000kph ff

Tone..
Where did you get your files from mate?? I'm wondering if you have slightly older versions but.. the doors are not immediately obvious in operation so..THe doors will stay open on the Viscount (after using shift+e) but will close as soon as the lights are put on.
With the Vanguard.. the fwd door will close when engine 1 is started and the rear pax door will close when engine 2 is started.
Hope this helps
Leif.. I use the standard settings as listed in the manual mate. I use slightly less rpm (12500) as a rule of thumb and as many of my flights in the old girl are internal, I don't go above FL150 and see (depending on weight) up to 260kias.. 261 on a good day. I've done back to back flights with her at FL250 and FL150 with the same fuel and payload and the difference between the two was something like 3mins and 150kg fuel saved by travelling at the higher altitude. Flight was around the 2hr mark so perhaps wasn't ideal for the higher alt. A flight of say 3 or more hours would probably see greater savings in time and fuel but for 2hrs and less, it really isn't worth the time spent in the climb

Hi Dave
Do you need Shift E on your version?
Mine..........
On the Viscount and Vanguard with the engines off the doors are open
You don't use shift E
They open with engins 1 front and 2 back being off on the Vanguard
Viscount the same but the lights need to be off as well
As soon as you put the lights on the Viscount the doors close
The Vanguard has to have the engines started.

I was wondering why certain our our mob are making money with the
darn thing and Im making like 7 8 mill a flight
Now I know why
BTW - the only scenery we have is at take off and landing the rest of the time its just a HUGE oggin - all blue grey and nasty

I know what you mean
Like everything mate, there are 'ideal - sweet' routes for the Vanguard where all the bits fall nicely into place.. 7-8mill certainly isn't bad

We're running our fuelscalar at .84 over here which gives a pretty realistic burn over a two hour flight so you might want to have a look. DM and I were getting higher burn rates than others and it transpired our scalar figure was more appropriate to FS2002
