took the dove from bournemouth to bristol, fine weather, great touchdown (-83ft/min ) and a 100% rating...

bit chuffed :dance:

Well done that man :clap: It's a bit nerve racking isn't it but when you've parked up and hit the brake.. you wonder what all the fuss is about. The much talked about rules will become second nature in no time and you'll find yourself wanting to improve on that -83fpm landing!! :wink:

Well done Hinch, nice to get the first one done.
Just updated the stats & noticed the new name on there. :smile:

Of course it's all second nature to a seasoned pro like me with 100+ flights now.
Mine was the next flight in & my Trident ran out of fuel just after turning off the runway. :worried:
And it took so much attention trying to conserve fuel that I forgot to put the lights on. BONG - have a 5% penalty.

It gets better with practice. :doho:

i'm super proud, however i owe much to my manual courtesy of Werner Schott. a very handy item to have in front of me!

i over did it on the fuel...i guessed the weight and had about 20% too much, however that'll do for the trip back :P

my jitters are now eased - i could get used to the pressure, the rewards give a warm feeling :wink:

The gas isn't too great a problem as you have already sussed. What you lose on one flight you can gain on the next so it will work out in the end if you pay a little attention :wink:

I know how you feel too DM. I've not f***ed the lights up for a while but I've been experimenting with the Vanguard's 'correct' weight and on my last two flights, I've forgotten to change it back again before starting the client. Nothing as drastic as running out but I've burned a lot more fuel than I calculated for and having added extra to get my 'base' fuel level up, I've written it off with the click of a button :doh: You'll find yourself getting into this sort of detail Hinch and you won't even realise it!! :lol:

I made the fatal mistake of wanting to get back from Bonn last night, landing at LHR at 0220 with a whopping 197fpm in the Vanguard proving that even 'seasoned vet's' can faux pas in the right conditions!! :tuttut: Well done on the improved landing matey :wink:

well i made another smooth -26fpm landing BUT only got 95%

taxiing down another runway still means landing lights on! pah! that smells.

i'll keep going ;)

Unfortunately, that is very true mate. Fear not though as given time, you'll work the 'personal' penalty off. I turned mine off at what I thought was 1300ft in the climb out of Jersey but silly me.. I'd not set my alt to Jersey (it was still at 1013) so the alt was giving me sea level and FlyNET knicked me because I was actually below 1000ft AGL :doh: I retraced the route out by road (Hama's Stalwart) and found that at best, I was 20ft or so under 1000ft AGL :crying: I was NOT a happy bunny :curse: You just have to put it behind you and work hard at getting your pilot rating back to the magic 100% :wink:

We've ALL done it mate so don't get disheartened :smile:
