Hi Garry,

Oh the memories!

That was in the days when you could walk out onto the terraces looking directly down onto the Aircraft.

Very nice picture that one. I would imagine she was retired not long after that picture was taken. Did'nt they get rid in the early 80's?

Hi Eddie

From memory the last three were O,X,Z and retired that year.

There are many pics that turn up but I felt that one was not only technically good but was the sort of view that would evoke memories.

Your right about the memories mate. I often wonder how many excellent pictures like that are kept in peoples personal possession never to be seen by fanatics like us!

The amatuer shots are a lot better than the airline publicity shots and ramp shots in a way because they record it as we saw it.

Even if the colour is off and it a bit fuzzy the memory does the rest.

On the auction sites a few good ones turn up and a lot seem to be in batches of type.

This makes me think it is a collection being auctioned and as they seem to be heavy on the late sixtie to late seventies I wonder if some are attic clearance.

Just a case of keeping an eye open

Indeed - I have no idea now of what is in my collection of negatives and slides going back to the late 70s.

Slowly scanning them in - many are of military air displays (eg Mildenhall, Greenham Common) but the occasional interesting item at Blackbushe, East Midlands or the like crops up. Still at the monocrome stage before I could afford colour. Raw negatives without any Photoshop yet.
