Was surprised how low the Vat speed was  I actually dialled a speed 6kts higher into the A/P just to be on the safe side. No commentary this time and no VC, so some different angles and some music instead. Enjoy
Btw, just for added amusement, theres moderate turbulence and 16kt crosswinds this time, not that'd you'd know it!

Very nice, Toby. Thanks for the video. I think you've cracked the VC10 autoland
Your intuition was correct in the Trident post. Because the VC10 was designed for low speed landings the VaT takes some getting used to compared to others!

But once you have,it's pure pleasure ;-)
Nice little one Toby. Didn't see the deployed spoliers though?

I noticed that, too! I guessed that the landing was so graceful - just burbling gently down and kissing the tarmac - that he just didn't need spoilers. Unless the runway was short, the pilots quite often didn't use reverse thrust as it wasn't always required.
Toby's a natural VC10 pilot! (Like you, Dan)

Am I not right is in saying the VC10 didn't automatically deploy spoilers on an autoland.

Correct guys, unlike the Trident the VC10 doesnt deploy them automatically... I didnt notice that  Still have you seen how long the runway is there?

Thank you Ian ;-)
Ben: No you have to do the work yourself :-) (you should now, flying all those VC10 flights at FLYNet)

Spot on Dan, but all my landings are seat of the pants manual.
