Non-showing HS748

I have downloaded Rick Piper's 748 & clicked on the icon to start the installation. I followed the prompts & now have a folder labelled FSDS HS.748 in fs9 but it doesn't show in the list a aircraft to choose from. I assumed automatic installation would be trouble free but I am wondering if I should have done, or should be doing, something to assist the process?
Thanks in advance for any help,
TerryW

Hi GM
if you read the readme you need all 4 parts (3 in readme) Pack3 was later
BasePack
Texture Pack 1
Texture Pack 2
Texture Pack 3
you only have part 1.
How do i know this ?.
because i got over 1000 e mails in 2 days because nobody read the file details on Avsim or the readme file once they downloaded it  .
Flightsim.com has a full file in one piece for the first 3 parts
but you still need Texture pack 3 as it has all the most up to date models in it.
Regards
Rick

Thank you for the information. I am sorry to say I found your web-site rather confusing visually & difficult to navigate around (self-criticism you understand) & I thought I had everything, so thanks for the Flightsim advice.
I have now got the 748 & have flown it from Bournemouth to Southhampton. As with your Viking, Varsity, & Viscount I give the HS748 10 out of 10 so if you will tell me where to vote for it I will certainly do so.
I must also send you some dosh. I have just paid for the RealAir MkXIV Spitfire & your aircraft are equally as good, so I am more than happy to help defray expenses for yours. I do especially like the Viking in Invicta colours - it's a gem. It reminds me of the aircraft I saw in my youth.
Thanks for your hard work & advice.

Glad you're sorted Terry
Don't worry too much about being critical of Rick's website as he hates it too. Of all the things he dislikes about making models, having to make a website sit's on top of the list

Hi Terry.
The big flightsim sites (Flightsim.com and avsim.com) have a product of the month type contest each month. The 748 was released (in June? ) So I imagine that vote is now closed.
Generally speaking, while freeware designers have there own sites, most files are uploaded to flightsim.com and avsim.com. Some of our guys have older models on their own sites, but hosting is a very expensive business, so most use these two as a way to get their models to the largest posible audience. David Maltby does host his own models on his own site though. As a rule of thumb, if you like the models the guys on here have produced, they normally announce on this forum as to what they are up to and where their latest creations will be released.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. One place I have found urging a vote was on the Read Me when I installed the HS748 this morning. I'll check the other sites out as these chaps deserve encouragement with their free work & votes are one way to show appreciation :-({|=

Terry,we tend to have most of the aircraft/paint/sound downloads from the rather emminent gentlemen that populate these pages at
Classic British Files.
http://www.classicbritishfiles.com/index.php
We also have a good gallery and a fledgeling Classic British models section and gallery too.
Feel free to pop along and explore the site,if you'd like to register with us that'd be very nice, but give us a visit and see what you think.
