Very good, Joe, and thanks.
Just noted that, although the Gosling (Widgeon) may have been built in 1942, it must have had to wait a few years for the engines!

thats the accident report from the FAA on the crash in a piper
this is a little part of a story written by a man who worked in Alaska and met Oren
...............
While at the Post we met the local Bush Pilot, Oren Hudson. he had three planes there. A Dehavilland Norseman on floats, a piper 4 lace on floats and an Aeronca single seater on wheels. In our conversation with him he told us that when he flies over the camp he expects us to appear out side the hut. If we don't he wil assume that something has happened and will walk in to investigate. Nice people to have around. The following Wednesday, we heard the plane and went outside to wave at it. Lo and behold there comes a package out of the plane. when we retreived it we found our mail (delivered twice a week to the Post and a loaf of oven warm bread!! Very nice people...

What a life, bush flying. I would love to pack up, move over there, build on my PPL, live in a very small town and just fly.
