Advice required

I know that a lot of you are, or have been in the aircraft and related profession.
It would appear that my son will be having to come out of the RAF quite soon after 9 years service and being refused his extension to 22 years.
Speaking to him, he is naturally "gutted" as he had set his heart on a full time career. Seems the bean counters are in full cry, although it does appear to fit in with the barmy times we are living. On the one hand the powers that be are moaning about the poor retention figures, and on the other crying because all the services are under the perceived manning levels. Or could it be that this stupid Government are busy turning swords into ploughshares and still promising more troops to this or that area, with no thought about where they are to be drawn from.
Anyway, that's that off my chest, minor rant over.
Now back to where I started. He is an aircraft refinisher by trade and is looking to take up similar when he comes out, not minding too much on the location at all. I was wondering if any of you could point him in the right direction.
Co-incidentally, he has been at one time actively involved in the "colour changes" of the Canberras mentioned on anther thread.
