I am surprised no one has mentioned them, 4 models.

Gladiator Mk1
Gladiator MkII
Sea Gladiator
Malta Pack, 3 aircraft Sea Gladiators less the arrestor hook painted as Faith, Hope and Charity.
Also availiable is Mercury sound with the Koffman bang starter

Very acceptable models to my mind, made for CFS2 but work fine in Fs9.

These are the only freeware models availiable of the Glad that work in Fs9 as far as I know

A couple of things I have found, on the MkII the underside of the left lower wing including the gun pod, the left lower fuselage and the left horiz stab are all black, it looks odd, the same applies to the MkI but not on the horiz stab. The MkI has the pitch jitters at high speed as Kevin described affecting the Hurri IID.

That said a very good effort I think many thanks to Thicko and the team.

A 'quick-fix' for the problem with the Mk I in pitch is to use the '.air' file from the Mk II instead of the original. The Mk II seems OK. I thought that it might just be a problem with the pitch inertia, but it's not - when I get a bit of free time, I'll look at the air file properly.

As to the black/white undersurfaces - there was a camouflage scheme in 39/40 which used half-black, half-white undersurfaces. It was used up to Spring 1940 in the UK but lasted longer in the Middle East. There were several varieties of this scheme, some involving just the wings, some the whole undersurface and one which painted the fuselage undersurface silver. Usually, the black port wing had its roundel outlined in yellow.

Whether or not a particular aircraft had the scheme, and in what 'flavour' is something usually discerned from photographic evidence: however, its impossible to generalise.

I believe the scheme originated from two thoughts - it was both a recognition feature for friendly aircraft and a 'dazzle' type camouflage to break up the outline.

I hope you'll post the repaint when it's done.

The pre-war silver fighter schemes can look glorious, and the Gladiator's displays, (together with those of the Blackburn 1912, the Hind and the Spitfire V) are the ones I most enjoy at Old Warden. As an aside, I'm looking forward to when Shuttleworth have to do a repaint on theirs - it's been in RNoAF markings far too long.

Ill post it - but Im a total neophyte at this painting thing - However I have been studying at the feet of a master I also love the mid 30s RAF colours - if this one works , I may do squadron colours as well
the factory colours are very very basic just national markings, and thats it
