They flew the type, and I can't recall as to whether there is a version for FS or not. Anyone?

Welcome to the forum LH

I get the idea from the two posts you've already made that you've only just found us and not been lurking. Try clicking on the 'Home' button at the top of the page for full details of our resident developers and from there you'll be able to see what aircraft/liveries are available

As Joe already mentioned in response to your other post, we already have our own VA and while it is not titled BOAC.. it encompasses BOAC routes and aircraft from the era you are looking at plus BEA/BA and a good many others. The CBFS VA forum can be accessed from the bottom of the main forum index page

The virtual economics aspect takes the simple joy our of your VA for me, and your VA does not include non-British types flown by BOAC in the era of my interest. There also does not seem to be a discernable way to actually join it that I could find.

If I sound persnickety, it is likely because I am with regard to these specifics. Love the site, concept and aircraft tho'. As for the MS Comet; yeah, I probably needed to be more thorough before squawkin'.

Rgr that LH

All the information required for you to be able to join is down in the VA section and links to the software required. You have to register on FlyNET first and when done, post your info in the recruits area on the forum here. John (who is on his hols at the mo) will add you to the roster on his return.

The 'virtual economics' shouldn't really trouble you as they don't me nor anyone else here I should imagine. OK.. you shouldn't go around writing aircraft off and killing the pax but I wouldn't expect anyone to do that anyway. All that is required is that you abide by what few rules there are and choose a flight whenever the mood takes you.

True, we do not have fleets of BOAC 707's or Connies but the VA is here to 'showcase' our own aircraft primarily.. that is, aircraft made by our resident designers. The introduction of any non-British aircraft flown by British airlines has not been ruled out for the future but we are happy with what we have at present. In reality, the VA has gone from nothing to the size it is now in a little over 2months which is something of a minor miracle!!

If you'd prefer to wait until we get to the point where non-British aircraft are purchased, then that's not a problem but at the moment.. I couldn't say one way or another when that will be.

I still have my Junior Jet Club book and wings pin from flying Johanesburg-Nairobi on a BOAC 747-121 in 1973. I also love the Captain Sim 707. Given these, my aim is probably more along the lines of finding or developing a V-BOAC that allows me to re-enact my personal history from the left seat. Given also that I am a member of Classic VA Group, and that my contributions from my 1972 journey were a major factor in helping them create a Reeve Aleutian VA (stay tuned for Varig 1976), I shall likely not participate in your VA. It would be preferable to aid CVAG in developing a definitive V-BOAC. I am also CEO of Red Mountain Airlines, an original southewestern-US-based VA, so what I am looking for tends to be very specific, with regard to extra-curricular VA activity. *Sigh* I guess the only classic British flight suimulation in my near future will be BOB II.

No prob LH. I can't imagine what the troops would say if I suggested us buying 747's for the fleet.. not that I can envisage this ever happening anyway! :-#

I fear that our aim and yours, though similar, will diversify at this point so I wish you all the very best in your endevours
