Apparently a JP Mk3 made a wheels-up landing at Kemble today too.

The RAF lost a Sea King on Monday afternoon. Rumour has it that there was a major vibration problem but that has not been confirmed yet. But it definatley came down on it's tail from about 100ft.
No way did that fall from 100 ft. The pilot probably just came in too fast and had his tail down too low.

From what I've heard, the aircraft did become unstable with some problem after takeoff - presumably what they meant was that it got up to 100 ft and then descended to the scene of the accident

From what I've read so far, the aircraft got up to about 100' and became unstable, so the pilot slammed it back on the ground. Thats where the damage came from.

If he hadn't done so, the result could have been a lot worse.

Well done to the man at the front.

must ask as the pictures show a lot of black from the engines. was there an engine fire that started this. have spent time on various flightdeck's never seen engine exhaust markings that bad. or is is defence cut back on aircraft cleaning.
