CTD with saved flights

Hi,

I'm having CTD problems with saved flights crashing just at the end of the load sequence. I'm starting to check things like aircraft & scenery files but is there anything obvious people know of that I should look at ?

If I create a flight from scratch all is well and the flight seems to save OK but to then run the saved flight causes a crash.

I've renewed the FS9.cfg file a number of times to no effect.

Any ideas ?

My software setup is as follows:
  • Win XP pro
    FS9.1 with no-CD exe
    VFR terrain
UKVFR scenery vols 3 & 4 with autogen updates

Degsy..

Are you saving flights while using real weather??

Dave,

No, just the default MS weather

Just to cross-check, it only happens with flights you've saved?

In which case I suggest you check you're not saving a flight with any autopilot engaged, this is known to cause a memory leak (ctd) when it next starts, especially any autopilot that is not the 'default Cessna' one.

I remember having this problem a while back.

Turned out to be the add-on scenery I was using in the saved flight.

I always use my own addon scenery for my saved flights, but using the default cesspit.
Once the flight has loaded, I simply slip into something more comfortable.

Never had a problem with it.

not sure if it helps but if I try to save an IFR flight I had the same?? probably did not help ..but a thought I am prone to the odd one now and then!

Hi,

Thanks all for the replies. I traced the problem to an addon aircraft.

Saving the same flight with a default plane then swapping after load up solved the problem.
