Hi Guys,

The old Hong Kong International Airport at Kai Tak has been re-opened and routes are now available. Both VHHH (new) and VHHX (old) will be served. I have amended the schedule slightly to round up/down the departure times to departures on the hour and on the half-hour.

CBF1538 and CBF1539 routing via VHHH (HKG new) all departures are 'on the hour'

CBF1540 and CBF1541 routing via VHHX (HKG old) all departures are 'on the half-hour'

UK to Australia via USA and Pacific also open as well as the existing JFK flight continues on to SFO.

Additional return routing from Jo'burg via Entebbe and Zurich is open.

I started my first circumnavigation for CBFS VA tonight, I was delayed a bit because flynet was down. I started the day at EGBB and had to buy a ticket to EGLL as I could not book a flight back (My bad luck, I can never find a dove or DC3 when I need one).

After getting into my favorite SVC10 I only managed to get as far as Bangkok before stopping for the night. Hope to continue tomorrow.

I made a slight mistake on the the code for the sydney airport and selected Sydney Bankstown (YSBK) which has only 4500 foot runways rather than Kingsford Smith Intl Airport Kingsford Smith Intl Airport (YSSY) which is the proper airport.

I did not realise this until I was starting to make my approach, not wanting to risk landing on so short a runway I aborted. We need to change routes through Sydney to use YSSY instead of YSBK.

Sorry, my bad,

Hi Joe

Flights re-routed apart from the booked ones. You and Ben are going to have to cancel so I can change dest to YSSY.

I have now returned to EGLL after finishing all 10 legs of the circumnavigation.

The legs into and out of sydney were limited to 4x and they took so long I almost lost my mind.

For each leg I was taking on 35000kg of fuel as the longest leg is KJFK to EGLL and the last couple times I did that route I used 33000kg and it had worked fairly well until the last leg.

The winds must not have been favorable as when I was making my decent fuel was down to 6%. 40 miles out I lost the #3 engine, but was not worried, three engines were enough and I still had 4% fuel. 5 miles out and on the base leg I lost the number #2 engine, and started to get a bit worried. Now lined up with the runway, 3% fuel, set the AP for auto land and its about to catch the ILS beam and #1 shuts down and 10 seconds later #4. I am not going to make it.

Quick kill the flynet client.

I restart the flight and tried it again with 38000kg of fuel and arrive without incident with 10000kg of fuel remaining.

10 legs, 22,106 nm, 118,486,800v$ income for the VA.
