A double deck VC10 was also on the drawing board.

That's right CB that was the Superb.

That and other double decks like the original DC8 were often published...........but I have never seem this one before.

It reminds me a bit of PSA's double deck Tristars, only the lower deck is much bigger and has windows and doors..

BTW.. That 707 diagram appears on the box of Corgi's 1/144 model, with a caption underneath it saying, "models shown is not model in pack". I was quite disappointed when I opened the box and realised BA didn't operate double deck 707's... :roll:

I have never seen the Corgi 707 so the box is unknown to me.

The PSA L-1011 converted some of the cargo hold to seating and did not have to change the fuselage except to add some exit doors. From the diagram you can tell that the 707 fuselage has been made taller. Kinda reminds me of some of the earlier double deck monsters like the B377 and the Douglas C-124, both of which were not very elegant looking machines.

Would the lower deck be economy or cattle class?

Corgi are quite famous for having box pictures that look nothing like the model itself, but this is the worst offender!

I had the first 50 and the 707 was the next but I stopped there and had not seen the 707.

I know what you mean about the boxes. Revell used to do a similar thing by using a protoype model to get the box art done in time and ended up with something in the box different to the pic.

On top of that there is no excuse for using the wrong 3-view.
