Aircraft Registrations

Posted: 21 May 2006, 16:49
by RAF_Quantum
In the very near future we will be able to choose the registrations for our aircraft.

So, if we can get a list together I will change the reg's to actual reg's used. Please post in this thread and I will update in here to keep a running list going. UK reg's for now if possible until we exhaust the options.

Many more that did not serve

Some of these were early days also left out G-APOW as that was in Kuwait in those marks..

It might be better to go by arline fleet lists and take the types from there.

I think this is perhaps a long winded way to go about it.

Garry, in your T2 listing, it should be G-AVFH (I know its just a typo!). Also, dont forget G-AWZT came to a rather nasty end on 10/9/76  Might be an idea to omit that one.

Could also add Trident 1Es:

G-AVYB (Channel, Northeast, BA)
G-AVYC (BKS, Northeast, BA)
G-AVYD (BKS, Northeast, BA - w/off 1975)
G-AVYE (Channel, BEA, BA)
G-ASWU (Kuwait, Cyprus, BA)

Hi Toby

Thanks

I corrected the typo

G-AWZT should be left in as it was serving

The Argosy's G-APVH and G-ASKZ should not rwally be there as there were prototypes

There are a lot of aircraft listed the that were written off especially in the V.700 list

But I feel it would be better to list airlines as this way contains a lot that is not really right for the period and routes.

Hi Gary,

Willing to try anything you would suggest. It will at least be a step in the right direction to at least get some actual registrations that existed on the aircraft types in real life. To a certain extent, we have some artistic license to be able to have two aircraft with different registrations in 'our fs9 world' that in real life were one and the same aircraft. We can't however have two aircraft with the same registration even though they were operated a decade or so apart with different airlines.

Depending how this VA idea progresses, we may get folk that want to operate aircraft in their own neck of the woods. It would be quite possible in our virtual world to have for example G-APRL, N6507R, N602Z and N890U all co-existing at the same time, even though in real life they were the same airframe. It is co-incidence that we have 15 Argosies on the fleet and there appeared to be 15 UK registration allocated at one time or another to the airframes.

I think the HS748 will probably end up being the biggest fleet due to it's popularity. The more people that want to fly a particular type will to a certain extent dictate the number of 'virtual airframes' required. Unless someone goes into overdrive with the paint pallette we will have situations where we have an aircraft with a registration that has not been provided with a repaint, so I am sure virtual pilots will pick 'as close to'. On the other hand a pilot may use one particular repaint to fly all the different aircraft of one fleet type.

I picked up on a comment in previous posts about non-authentic registrations and I am trying to address that 'problem'. Even if an airframe only had the registration for a short time at least it will be as authentic as we are allowed.

Regards

John
