Wow Gina, that was brilliant, thanks for sharing.

When in the RAF we were dispersed to Wittering on exercise so had 4 Vulcans parked on the QRA. In those days Wittering were flying the Harrier and Hunters, it was such a delight to be stationed by the threshold of the runway so that we could watch close up the Hunters taking off and landing. The Harriers seemed to be much louder though.

I think my love affair with the Hunter began in March 1970, upon arrival at RAF Gutersloh, with two squadrons of FR10's....plus of course those noisy F2A Lightnings
