It's not very nice.

Covid that is.
Last Thursday I felt as if a cold was coming on. Friday morning I took a lateral flow test and it was positive. Over the weekend I felt progressively worse. The cough seems to start in my boots, and goes out through the top of my head. Runny nose, sneezing, headaches, ribs ache.
I've been double vaccinated and boosted. They say it lessens the effects of Covid, so I'm glad I've had it done. I'm on day 5 of testing, and still positive.
There is no treatment other than the usual over the counter cold remedies, which don't appear to be having any effect. Single malt helps!
Sad to say, my wife tested positive yesterday. Now we are a house in lock down, although Boris says we no need to isolate, we will.
I don't really know why I'm telling you this, but I need to get it off my chest.

That is awful news, I hope that you and your wife will recover very soon. Some say it is like having a cold but they do not mention how bad that cold turns out to be, take it easy and don't try to do too much, you need to rest whilst your body is fighting this horrible Covid.
Even though Babs and I are 'At Risk' we try to take as many precautions as is possible such as going to our weekly shop early in the morning, if we go to a garden centre we get there an hour before closing as not many people there but we always wear our face masks as soon as we leave the car, we do not go into the City Centre at all and buy on-line for anything we need. Other than that it is just like playing Russian Roulette, no matter how careful you are, it just takes one person to pass it on to you unintentionally.
It is wrong for Boris to say you don't have to isolate, this is one way that the virus will spread unnoticed.
Again, hope you start to feel well soon.
Regards
Nigel.

Some years ago, I read a report in New Scientist magazine where they tested many cold remedies. They also tested whisky and it was found to be equally as effective as the commercial cold/flu treatments. But, is far more pleasurable to take.

Sorry to hear that, Den.
Just as well that you've had all your jabs, and we do hope that they ease your symptoms.
Glad it didn't stop you getting the correct answer in the spotter quiz
I can only repeat what the others said, and you're no doubt doing anyway; take it easy both of you.
