Noisy beast.

We live under one of the flight paths for Heathrow, and one evening a couple of weeks ago, about 10.15, a very noisy aircraft passed overhead. I reached for my phone and brought up Flight radar 24. It was a Singapore Airways cargo 747.

Since that time we have heard several of them, usually late in the evening. I went outside one evening and saw it. At least I saw the lights.

Having got used to the much quieter modern aircraft, I'd quite forgotten what noisy beasts they are. But I like them!!

Ooh, a SIA 747 - lovely! I must say I'd rather like to live under a flight path for Heathrow, watching and listening to those huge aircraft going over. Since all the RAF and USAF airfield closures in the 1990s, all we get over Norwich these days are the American F-15s and F-35s from Lakenheath going up to train over the Wash. It's nice to hear those afterburners, and try to spot them high up.
