It's a great museum, and a second visit is on the cards once we're allowed out again. Along with Just Jane, there are loads of other interesting things to see, such as the wings from a Wellington, Mosquito and Hampden restorations, and a resident airworthy C-47. Great full English breakfast available too - a good day out.

I second Paul's reply, well worth going to but since my disability now means that I am unable to walk very far if I do go again it will be in my wheelchair or mobility scooter!!

Apparently the owners of Just Jane had previously said that all monies for Just Jane return to the sky will be through donations and one source is the Rivet Club which is on a monthly donation of £3 upwards. I assume also that all monies collected for taxi rides in her will also go towards her restoration.

I had a look at the charges for being a passenger for a taxi run and they are not cheap at £385 per person and probably have around 5 or 6 on-board for each taxy.

However, the VIP Taxy Ride Experience is £430 single but with a guest it is £520 all that includes the following: https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/store/l ... ce-day.htm

They also do a Mosquito taxi ride for,£950, so when you consider a flight in a spitfire is around £2750 for 20 minutes then I suppose the price for the taxi runs are not overly expensive as they are around the 45 minute mark.

The only thing there that really puts a shiver up my spine at the museum is the wreckage of a Supermarine Spitfire Vb (BL655) flown by
Norman Alexander Watt from 416 (RCAF) Squadron who was sadly was killed on July 1st, 1943 after an inverted dive at Dorrington Fen.

My son, Steve Hague and Lee Norgate worked on the Mosquito when it was at Elvington. As soon as it was on its own wheels, Tony Agar decided he no longer needed them.
